Blind Estimation of Speech Transmission Index and Room Acoustic Parameters by Using Extended Model of Room Impulse Response Derived From Speech Signals

چکیده

The speech transmission index (STI) and room acoustic parameters (RAPs) are essential metrics for assessing quality predicting listening difficulty in a sound field. Although STI important RAPs, such as reverberation time clarity, can be derived from the impulse response (RIR), measuring RIR regularly occupied spaces is difficult. Hence, simultaneous blind estimation of RAPs an imperative challenge issue that must addressed. However, most existing methods provide only single parameter require massive dataset model training. A deterministic method presented blindly estimating five using stochastic approximates unknown RIR. An algorithm formulated uses temporal power envelope reverberant signal to determine optimal model. mathematical dereverabation process was proposed based on signals. This maps observed signal. estimated then synthesized estimate RAPs. simulation conducted evaluate signals, comparison best previous work. root-mean-square error (RMSE) Pearson correlation coefficient between measured values were used evaluation metrics. In terms STI, achieves accuracy with RMSE 0.037. With regard other remains consistent works. results show effectively simultaneously without any

Blind Estimation of Room Acoustic Parameters from Speech and Music Signals

The acoustic character of a space is often quantified using objective room acoustic parameters. The measurement of these parameters is difficult in occupied conditions and thus measurements are usually performed when the space is un-occupied. This is despite the knowledge that occupancy can impact significantly on the measured parameter value. Within this thesis new methods are developed by whi...

Blind estimation of room acoustic parameters using kernel regression

Room acoustic parameters are key information for dereverberation or speech recognition. Usually, when one needs to assess the level of reverberation, only the reverberation time RT60 or a direct to reverberant sounds index Dτ is estimated. Yet, methods which blindly estimate the reverberation time from reverberant recorded speech do not always differentiate the RT60 from the Dτ to evaluate the ...

Monaural room acoustic parameters from music and speech.

This paper compares two methods for extracting room acoustic parameters from reverberated speech and music. An approach which uses statistical machine learning, previously developed for speech, is extended to work with music. For speech, reverberation time estimations are within a perceptual difference limen of the true value. For music, virtually all early decay time estimations are within a d...

Acoustic Study of an Auditorium by the Determination of Reverberation Time and Speech Transmission Index

The quality of the communication between teachers and students and ultimately, of classroom education itself, is closely linked to the acoustic quality of the auditorium. This acoustic quality can be characterized based on the reverberation time (RT), speech transmission index (STI) and the sound insulation. In this context, an acoustic study was conducted in an auditorium located in the Higher...
